Late to the Party

I am not a lover of new ideas, new concepts, new fashion trends.  Here is a synopsis of my reaction to anything new:

Upon first hearing about it: Oh.  Well.  That is different.  Hm.  I don’t think I would ever try (an iPod, iPhone, skinny jeans, leggings, MySpace, a real job, hot yoga, aviators, scarves, dangly earrings, acrylic nails, an Apple watch… you get the picture.)  Nope, not for me.  That’s for other (younger, smarter, faster, skinnier, trendier) people.

One year later:  Oh, that’s how that works.  I get it now.  Pretty cool, but still.  Not really my jam.

Two years later:  That’s still around.  Hm.  Maybe it’s worth a try?

Two years and one day later:  HOW HAVE I BEEN LIVING WITHOUT THIS?  This is the best thing ever.  I LOVE it.  How could I have been so wrong?

Next big thing:  Oh.  Well.  That is different.  Hm.  I don’t think I would ever try that.

Except for Facebook.  I was all over that from Day One and I can’t see ever giving it up.
